The Collective / Rules
How we treat each other.
The Collective works because people can be honest here. These few rules protect that.
- 01Real people, real respect.Disagree with ideas, never attack people. No harassment, hate, slurs or threats — ever.
- 02What's shared here stays here.People open up in this room. Don't screenshot, repost or share someone else's story outside it.
- 03Lived experience, not prescriptions.Share what worked for you. Don't diagnose, prescribe, or tell someone to stop treatment or medication.
- 04Keep it safe.No graphic descriptions of self-harm or methods, and nothing that glorifies use or relapse.
- 05No selling, no spam.Build is for sharing knowledge and resources — not pitches, schemes, or unsolicited DMs.
- 06Report, don't pile on.If something's wrong, use Report. The team reads every one, and reporters stay anonymous.
What this space is — and isn't
Recovery, Release and every other room here are peer support: people sharing what they've lived through. Nobody here is acting as your doctor, therapist or counselor, and nothing posted is medical advice or treatment.
The team reads reports but can't monitor every conversation in real time, and can't respond to emergencies.
If you're in crisis
- Call or text 988 — Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US, 24/7).
- In immediate danger: call 911 or your local emergency number.
- SAMHSA National Helpline: 1-800-662-4357 — free, confidential treatment referral for substance use and mental health (US, 24/7).
- Outside the US, contact your local emergency services.
If you see a post where someone may be in danger, use Report and choose “Someone may be in danger” — and if you know them, reach out directly.
When rules are broken
The team may hide or remove posts, lock conversations, and pause someone's participation for a while or for good. Posting is also paced: if you post very quickly, you'll be asked to wait a few minutes.
